Hello everyone, welcome to the Starfield Creations Website! Home of the art of Andrew Dickman! I'm Kimi Star, and this is Hugey. We hope you enjoy your stay!
I’ve been able to make an animated short involving Mega Man and Solar Man. What makes this animation special is the fact I’ve been utilizing the animation features in PhotoshopCS4, something completely new to me. So while the animation was drawn in Photoshop I still had to fix and edit it all into Flash. Here’s the outcome. Once I learn more about the animation features in better detail, I’ll try out some more in the future. Hope you enjoy!
You have no idea how excited I was when I purchased the newest Gigamix volume and saw that Ariga picked one of the designs I sent in. Volt Man is clearly shown riding along side a gaggle of other entrants’ robots. A few months back, Hitoshi Ariga held an opportunity for artists to submit their robot designs to use in a portion of the new Gigamix storyline, and I feel like a lucky Gaijin right now as I was one of the many entrants that were lucky enough to have their creations featured in the book (even if its only for a one shot deal.) The original design and image I sent in is on the lower right of the image above.
Ariga is one of my all time favorite artists from Japan and certainly an icon I look up to for his Rockman books, so you can tell how giddy and excited I was to spot this.
When taking off the cover slip, I noticed that the inside also held some extra secrets. Here you can see he printed my submission for RadioMan.
Tried something new for the weekly robot master challenge, however I missed the deadline. But I figure I’d try something different, as this is a “EXE” version of the character. So here you go, Chill Man as if they’d show up in MegaMan Battle Network.
Super Mario Bros. 2 seems to be the black sheep of the Mario series. Why? For several reasons: 1. It wasn’t originally meant for release in Japan, 2. It’s basically a palette-swap of another game called Doki Doki Panic for the Famicom Disk System, 3. It veers so far from the original concept of the Mario series gameplay, switching from run and jump to pick-up and toss, and most notably 4. It probably features the MOST enemies to never appear or become mentioned in later Mario games again!
However, several enemies actually tended to “survive” afterward, and are still considered to be some of the most memorable of all of Mario’s lesser enemies. Let’s take a look at some of them. Read the rest of this entry »
For almost 12 years, I’ve been hoping that someone would finally get their mind in the right place to see that the Megamix series, drawn and written by Hitoshi Ariga, needs to be translated. I think its good that they took their time, because over the years, Ariga’s Megamix series had undergone a lot of changes and “reprints” for reasons I can’t often imagine. A rather carefree and often clumsy cartoon character, Happy Face is one of the main characters in Random Road and Tooniversity. Often hanging out with his long time friend, Clang, Happy is often cautious of dangerous exploits in the cartoon universe. He is often the fall guy, but is more lucky then most cartoons of his type. Despite being in very precarious situations that would often cause him to have accidents, Happy usually manages to get out unharmed, but it’s not always the case.
He lives with his family on Random Road who acts more of the house mechanic then the son/brother of the house. He has a small room in the basement where he chose to stay along with his pet cat, Sox. He also has a love interest, Merry Christmas the Fox, daughter of classic cartoon villain, Fix the Fox. He is often shy around her, but they happen to be very close.
For work, Happy is the janitor of Tooniversity, hired by his good friend, Clang, to make sure the University is in good shape. Though Clang would often suggest he would be better off as a cartoon acting star, he still prefers his current occupation. Whenever there is a job that needs to be done, whether it be plumbing or architectural, he knows his way through. Happy is very handy with tools and would never deny an opportunity to get new helpful gadgets from the local hardware store. Though he can get rather carried away when it comes to purchases.
Oddly enough, Happy Face has an evil twin brother named Scrappy Face, whom he rarely thinks about unless he’s faced with him directly. Because of him, Happy is often the target for most of his schemes. Happy isn’t much of a fighter, but when he has to, will often rely on his tools or mop to help him out of a jam.
