Are you Really the Wheel Man?… REALLY?… YOU?

The results of the wacky Dungeons and Dragons session of TheSpoonyOne’s campaign over at http://live.lordkat.com Although the stream itself didn’t work for me, I had listened in on the (thankfully) recorded sessions during work, so on my break, I decided to draw some of the highlights. Truly inspiring.

Just a classic styled Monster Movie poster starring one of my new characters Rex Adams, the Monster Expert. Enjoy!

Random sketch

Tuesday, June 1st, 2010

Just a random sketch of a kid I did on my Cintiq before it screwed up… I use my Cintiq on my laptop and the settings are kind of messed up. I’ll have to figure it out later because my laptop does some weird stuff lately anyhow, but once I get that up and running I’ll be drawing on my Cintiq more often.

You don’t know who Lupo is but enjoy this fanart

I did this piece REALLY fast after coming back home from my moms place. I was only able to find ONE comic of this series, but it was enough for me to remember those comics I would actually get as a gift in the airplane on the way to Germany.

Fix und Foxi is a german comic book series created by Rolf Kauka (whom I doubt at the time I was enjoying the books did the art, but I love the artist who did, very cartoony and reminds me a lot of the Disney comics still being made by some great Italian artists.) The whole book and characters give you that Woody Woodpecker/Disney hybrid style that I love about classic cartoon looks.

As I did this piece real quick and looked at the comic, I thought “Why… why are there no good cartoon characters like this anymore?”

Ugh, if I go into it, I’ll turn into a big rant and rave about cartoons today and I don’t want to do that, instead, enjoy this fan piece of Lupo! I hope to find more stuff about Fix & Foxi and get back that nostalgic feeling again.

Out of mind

Friday, May 14th, 2010

This is just a bit of commentary on myself. I feel like I’m better at creating characters than I am with stories, which is kind of distressing but I can come up with some great scenarios. The problem I think is the fact that I just have so many ideas for characters, that they just knock in my head and I end up getting them out so they’re no longer pestering me in my mind. So getting them on paper, I finally have them out, but it takes away from my moments to tell stories.

This is just a little odd explanation on why I do comics less and character art more often. They just have to come out and on paper.

Human Swain(?)

Friday, April 16th, 2010

I’m up WAY way too late tonight but I thought about experimenting a bit with the thought of a human Swain “Swirly” Jenkins. Obviously the young, peppy gamer girl look does her justice. You may see more of human Swain in the future, not to say that our lovable skunkette won’t still be around. She’d kill me!
