I have to agree with most of your points; great style and animation, poor sue of the girls as a plot element.

As for the 3D, while I do think it adds some depth and immersion to the universe, I agree that the effect can go unnoticed after a while and ends up just being an excuse to charge higher ticket prices to “rent” a pair of cheap glasses.

I’m hoping that megamind will do better, since it follows a similar theme yet isn’t washed out by a limiting support cast.

I agree with the kids being an unnecessary asset in the story, however them being “Too Greedy” was fine because kids are needy little buggers, my problem with the children (at least the 2 older ones) was they weren’t realistic or believable for a good majority of the time, at a few points for they were perfectly believable (like the part about getting Pizza) for me, they seemed too adult and too planned out, even for orphans.

However, the movie was pretty good, not great but not terrible. Do more reviews dude, however plan out the review because you deviate away from the point a little too much, these types work better if you have someone else to argue about the film with you, just my opinion *hides from being hit*
